Check your eligibility
Free Driveaway Insurance is only available for use by customers purchasing or leasing a car from Volvo Car UK or at a Volvo Retailer and should be put in place to be started on the day you take delivery of your car. You should not take out Free Driveaway Insurance for your new Volvo if you already have alternative cover in place.
Drivers
- All drivers are aged 19–85
- No driver has had insurance cancelled or refused by an insurer
- No driver has been previously banned from driving
- All drivers are UK permanent residents and hold a full/provisional UK or full EU licence
- Policy must be taken out in an individuals name (not a company/business)
- This insurance is subject to passing an identity check
Claims and convictions
No driver may have:
- serious recent motor convictions
- more than three motoring convictions in the last five years
- more than three at-fault claims in the last five years
Vehicle
- If you have a Volvo Approved tracking device with an active subscription, such as a Vodafone Automotive VTS S5, you will benefit from zero excess being payable if your car is stolen and recovered. For further information, please click here or contact your local Volvo Retailer
- The vehicle has not been modified or altered in any way since it was supplied by the vehicle manufacturer/dealership (including wheels, suspension, bodywork and engine) - optional extras fitted by the manufacturer/dealership are not considered a modification
Ownership
- The vehicle is Owned and registered by you, your spouse, partner or civil partner (not business partner), by your parent, guardian, grandparent or a leasing company (where you have a contract to insure the vehicle)
- You or your spouse, partner or civil partner (not business partner) will be the main driver
- Vehicle registered in the UK only
- The vehicle must be kept at your address
Vehicle use
- Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SDP)
- Social, Domestic, Pleasure and Commuting (SDP&C)
- SDP&C including Business Use (Class 1)
- Your vehicle is not used for Hire & Reward
